The AMA Education System (AMAES) yesterday came to the aid of the beleaguered Parents Enabling Parents (PEP) Coalition by providing partial college scholarship to children of members of the group whose educational plans were cancelled by pre-need firms suffering from financial problems.
AMAES Senior Vice President for Operations and Marketing Dr. Patrick Alain Azanza said the scholarship is open to all affected student beneficiaries of pre-need firms who had educational plans but were cancelled due to money problems.
PEP Coalition is a group of pre-need educational planholders of the College Assurance Plan (CAP), Platinum Plans, Pacific Plans Inc., The Professional Group, and Capitol Plans who have banded together to legally fight for their rights after these insurance companies allegedly failed to pay their obligations.
“This agreement is in response to their need for financial assistance to support the enrolment needs of their dependents. We recognized their desperation due to the opening of classes and we believe that these children deserve to have quality education and realize their dreams,” Azanza said. (Hannah L. Torregoza)
