A Child’s Lament

It is every parent’s dream to see their children finish college and have a better future, and my mother was one of them. My father abandoned us when I was barely 5 years old and my brother 2 years old. We witnessed how my mother worked hard to give us a normal if not a comfortable life. Unfortunately, my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had to retire from work. A mother as she is, she did not lose hope to give us the best education even she is gone. Out of her retirement benefits, she purchased two 5-year college exclusive plans for me and my brother. According to my Tita, who lived with us since my mother died 8 years ago, my mother chose PPI because of the name Yuchengco. Luckily, with the help of my maternal relatives, we were able to make both ends meet and I graduated from college last April 2005 in a non-exclusive school, not in an exclusive school which was the plan my mother got for us for the reason, that we have no other means where to get the additional fees and expenses in an exclusive school not shouldered by my education plan.

My brother who was supposed to enter college last year was forced to stop studying for we know our relatives can no longer afford to give additional allowance for both of us. It was our plan that my brother will enroll this June of 2005 also in a non-exclusive [school] so that we can use the difference of the amount to be paid by PPI (for his exclusive plan) and the remaining one year of my education plan for his allowance and other everyday expenses. I was hopeful too that I can find a job so that we can no longer be a burden to my relatives who had helped us since my mother died.

Last April, wben we heard of the rehab plan of PPI, my tears fell for my brother, and asked this question, Will the dream of my mother for us her children be a BROKEN DREAM? Hopefully not, we are still hoping together with the thousands of children affected by this fiasco, that the YUCHENGCO’s still have a HEART. Let.us continue praying for GOD’s DIVINE INTERVENTION.

Would like to thank the officers and members of the PEP Coalition for fighting for US. Special mention to Tita Chit, Tita Winnie and Mam Wynna, with their kind help my brother was able to enter college this year. Thank you so so much, may your tribe increase………..

  2. last month, it was all over Singapore that the facebook and yahoo accts of 2 prominent filipinos, Paul Monozca and Rico Hizon were hacked. Bad blogs and messages were fabricated and it was revealed last week that the culprit was Marco Yuchengco Santos, a grandson of ambassador Yuchengco. No one believed it at first as he was a friend to both gentlemen and a yuchengco at that but little did anyone knew he is wanted for a failed drug deal with the military in manila and he was a drug addict desperate for money to buy drugs. He has since fled overseas (I heard he is also looking for a job in Singapore) to escape the authorities. It was also revealed Marco Yuchengco Santos is responsible for hacking into RCBC bank, Malayan insurance and Pacific Plans when he worked for Mapua (handles all back-end needs of YGC) defrauding millions from its members. He uses bogus titles from companies that he set up which have already closed down or companies he was fired from: edsamail, touchmedia, IPVG etc. (being vice-chairman of non-existent companies)His modus operandi is to make his friends fight against one another via facebook or yahoo, including some family members and he would ask a fee to stop it. hayop sa racket! this is the yuchengco name we bought plans from?????????? all 34,000 of us

  3. please do not blame ambassador yuchengco for this, he is a good man. we should look into his grandson, mr. marco y. santos and the authorities for answers. i am sure with all the witnesses who have come forward, he has to answer for it

all sizes and all occasions. Lady Gaga has always been in news but most of the time for the wrong reasons.
In an additional shot these problems were addressed and
    ‘corrected’ as shown above.

  7. Your vehicles group rating is the single biggest
factor in determining the cost of your policy. If you run a business and
you have a car, truck or van that you use for that business, you are going to want to make sure
that you have the best possible insurance cover for it.
It pays for costs of personal injury to drivers and passengers.
